    A full-service accounting firm is hiring a Form 990 tax expert/Tax Manager to join their growing company.  This firm has 3 locations (one in the city and two in the suburbs) and the partners are flexible to which location this person works out of!

    This Tax Manager will help manage the client service engagements for tax-exempt organizations in the Chicago market. The Partners need someone who is experienced with running with 200-300 990 returns throughout the year from start to finish. This position interacts with clients regularly, so strong written and verbal communication is critical, as well as an emphasis on relationship-building skills. When the 990 work is completed, there will be time and the opportunity to work on personal and/or corporate tax work.

    Responsibilities:

    • Experience with researching issues, client correspondence, leading meetings internally and externally, and identifying opportunities for additional solutions to meet client needs
    • Technical expertise to review Forms 990, 990-T and 990-PF and work with tax-exempt clients and prospects
    • Training, coaching and mentoring, and supervising of staff
    • Contributing to the firm’s thought leadership
    • Keeping up to date with current issues, including but not limited to Tax Reform
    • Enthusiasm and passion to contribute to a growing practice

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • CPA and/or Master’s degree a plus
    • Strong experience with Forms 990, 990-T and 990-PF and tax-exempt clientele
