    Responsibilities

    • Weekly, monthly and period-end closing duties including preparation and review of entries and reconciliations as required. Areas of focus would include impairment, accruals, revenue, operating expenses, and other complex areas requiring judgement and estimation as well as review of lower risk areas executed by the staff.
    • Assist in coordination and support of third-party auditors.
    • Collaborate with other teams within the organization including Operations, Treasury, and Internal Audit.
    • Assist with the preparation of technical accounting memos and research matters.
    • Execute internal controls with a continuous improvement and ownership mentality.
    • Analyze and interpret operating and financial information regarding performance.
    • May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within accounting team as well as train coworkers.
    • Other tasks and duties as assigned.


    Requirements

    • 3-6 years of experience within an accounting firm with exposure to the real estate industry preferred.
    • Experience with Yardi is desired and strong Microsoft Excel skills are required.
    • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen. Creative and innovative approach to solving problems and resolving issues.
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines and maintain a continuous improvement mentality.
