    Our busy legal firm is looking for an efficient, organized Legal Assistant to help our attorneys and paralegals assist our clients and ensure we’re operating efficiently. You’ll assist with the preparation of legal documents, and handle all office correspondence including answering phone calls and emails, arranging meetings and travel, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines. Responsibilities: • Work with attorneys and paralegals to create various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents when requested • Arrange travel, schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, and coordinate with outside vendors for events • Accept other administrative tasks as needed to assist the team and ensure the firm runs smoothly • Conduct legal research, when necessary, with guidance from attorneys and paralegals • Ensure client billing is processed properly using daily time records with assistance from the accounting department • Assisting attorneys and staff with processing clients' injury claims and lawsuits • Processing cases throughout the litigation process • Drafting legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings • Filing pleadings in state and federal courts (including e-filing) • Reviewing and processing mail, faxes, and emails • Calendaring for assigned attorneys • Scheduling depositions, hearings, trials, and meetings • Preparing arbitration materials and trial materials • Preparation of final accounting documents at the conclusion of the case • Communicating with medical providers, opposing counsel, and insurance companies • Training new hires and mentoring them throughout the onboarding process Qualifications: • Candidates must have worked with legal software, case management, and docketing programs • Proficient with MS Office products • At least 1-2 years of previous experience in a law firm setting performing administrative tasks • Must be able to type at least 50 WPM • High school diploma or equivalent is required; associate’s degree is a plus • Competency and experience working on personal injury cases • Organized • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Excellent computer skills (MS Office) • Detail-oriented • Ability to handle multiple litigation cases with supervision Compensation: $55,000+ yearly DOE
