Assistant / Associate / Director of Budget
Location: Klamath Falls, Oregon (with flexibility for remote work within Oregon)
Compensation: $90-$120K DOE \- Annual merit-based increases and discretionary bonus eligibility
About the Role
Jennie Joiner with Forum Group PNW is seeking a Budget Leader to join a collaborative finance team in Klamath Falls, Oregon. This position can be hired at the Assistant, Associate, or Director level depending on experience. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role plays a key part in managing budget planning, financial reporting, and strategic resource allocation for a $100M+ organization serving 500–600 employees.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage budget planning, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Monitor revenues, expenditures, and fund accounting activities.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial management reports.
- Implement and optimize new financial reporting systems.
- Supervise, mentor, and support a small team of budget staff.
- Partner with leadership across the organization to ensure resources are aligned with institutional priorities.
Qualifications by Level
Assistant Director
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in budget planning, fund accounting, and data analysis.
- Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
- Experience in higher education, government, or complex organizations.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
Associate Director
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 4+ years of progressive experience in budget management, policy, and reporting.
- Proven leadership skills and experience supervising staff.
- Demonstrated success in budget oversight and organizational improvements.
Director
- Master’s degree (or extensive equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience.
- 6+ years in budget planning and financial reporting with a record of strategic impact.
- Extensive supervisory experience managing teams and driving mission-driven results.
Additional Information
- Work Flexibility: Preference for on-site in Klamath Falls, but open to fully remote candidates based in Oregon who can attend key meetings 3 times per year.
- Schedule: Standard 8–5 pm with flexibility, including options such as 4/10 schedules.

- Systems: Banner Finance (in transition), Millennium FAST (reporting & budgeting), strong Excel required.
- Training & Support: Onboarding support available, including part-time staff and leadership guidance.
