    $18.00–$20.00 per hour before incentive/bonus.

    Position Summary

    The Budtender provides knowledgeable, welcoming and compliant service to dispensary customers. This

    position verifies customer eligibility, identifies customer needs, explains available products, completes accurate

    point-of-sale transactions, supports inventory accuracy and maintains a clean and secure retail environment.

    Budtenders must balance excellent customer service with strict adherence to cannabis regulations and company

    procedures.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Customer Service and Product Education

    • Greet customers promptly, create a welcoming environment and provide attentive service throughout the

    transaction.

    • Ask appropriate questions to understand customer preferences, experience level, intended product

    format and budget.

    • Explain product categories, cannabinoid content, terpene information, methods of use and responsible-

    use considerations based on approved product information and training.

    • Make customer-focused recommendations without diagnosing conditions, prescribing treatment or

    making unsupported medical or therapeutic claims.

    • Communicate current promotions, loyalty-program information and product availability accurately and

    consistently.

    • Resolve routine service concerns and promptly involve a lead or manager when an issue exceeds the

    position's authority.

    Sales Transactions and Compliance

    • Verify identification, age and customer eligibility before permitting access or completing a transaction, as

    required by law and company procedure.

    • Accurately create or update customer profiles and enter products, discounts, taxes, payments and

    required information in the point-of-sale system.

    • Follow legal purchase limits and company procedures for packaging, labeling, receipts, returns, exchanges

    and discounts.

    • Count cash, provide accurate change and reconcile the assigned register or cash drawer according to

    established procedures.

    • Protect customer, employee and company information and maintain confidentiality of records and

    transactions.

    • Immediately report suspected diversion, fraudulent identification, theft, unsafe behavior, policy violations

    or unusual transactions to management.

    Inventory and Store Operations

    • Retrieve, stage and restock products while maintaining secure custody and accurate product location.

    • Assist with cycle counts, inventory counts, product checks and discrepancy identification as directed.

    • Check product labels and condition before sale and promptly remove or report damaged, expired, recalled

    or questionable products.

    • Maintain orderly displays, counters, menus, storage areas and customer-facing materials in accordance

    with company standards.

    • Complete assigned opening, closing, cleaning, sanitation and operational checklists accurately and on

    time.

    • Follow all access-control, key, alarm, visitor, camera, cash and security procedures.

    Teamwork and Professional Conduct

    • Attend required meetings and complete assigned product, compliance, safety and customer-service

    training.

    • Communicate inventory issues, customer trends, operational concerns and shift information clearly to

    leads and managers.

    • Maintain dependable attendance, punctuality, professional appearance and respectful conduct.

    • Remain fit for duty and comply with policies prohibiting on-duty cannabis use, impairment and

    unauthorized product consumption or possession.

    • Follow LiveHappy policies, safety procedures and lawful instructions from management.

    Required Qualifications

    • At least 21 years of age.

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    • At least one year of customer service, retail, hospitality or cash-handling experience preferred; prior

    licensed cannabis retail experience is strongly preferred.

    • Ability to learn and accurately communicate cannabis product information, regulations and store

    procedures.

    • Basic math skills and ability to operate a point-of-sale system, cash drawer and related retail equipment

    accurately.

    • Clear verbal communication, active listening, sound judgment and professional customer-service skills.

    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and composure.

    • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred.

    • Ability to satisfy any background-check, fingerprinting, badging or work-permit requirements imposed by

    applicable law.

    Schedule and Work Environment

    • On-site position requiring availability for assigned mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

    • Work is performed in a licensed cannabis retail environment with frequent public contact, cash handling,

    video surveillance and noticeable cannabis odor.

    • Employees may work near secured inventory areas and must consistently follow access and product-

    control procedures.

    Physical Requirements

    • Stand and walk for most of the scheduled shift and regularly communicate with customers and coworkers.

    • Frequently use hands to operate registers, computers, scanners and retail equipment; bend, reach, crouch

    and move throughout sales and storage areas.

    • Occasionally lift, carry, push or pull items weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable

    accommodation.
