Special Education Teacher Grade 1-6 and/or 7-12

Responsibilities

• Provisions of both push-in and pull-out support services for students with IEPs and 504 Plans
• Collaboration with general education teachers for planning of support for students with special needs
• All other duties as assigned by the Director of Academic Support (DAS)

Qualifications

• New York State Certification in Special Education preferred

• Commitment to mission and vision of Buffalo Creek Academy

• Demonstrated success educating students with special needs

• Experience with the intervention in a similar student population

• Experience with data-driven instruction and analysis of academic achievement data

• Knowledge of a range of accommodations and modifications typically described in Individualized Education Plans (IEPS)

• Knowledge of the design of Response to Intervention process and commitment to executing our RTI process

• Knowledge of standards-based instruction and New York State learning standards

• Ability to problem-solve in a team environment

• Outstanding work ethic and willingness to manage ad-hoc tasks outside of job responsibilities when necessitated by circumstances

• Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree or equivalent preferred

Start Date: 08/24/2023

Salary: Full time: $45,000-$51,000/annually, Part time: Negotiable
