Montessori Teacher or Assistant
Job Description
We are looking for a warm, caring individual who loves working with young children. A high school diploma is required. Would you like to gain some practical experience with different age groups to prepare you for a career in education? Full-time, Part-time or Substitute positions available.
An appreciation for the work of young children is critical. Some college coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus. An Infant-Toddler or Early Childhood Montessori Certificate would be ideal. Training is available for the right applicant. Assistance with tuition for Early Childhood Education and or Montessori training is available.
Working with young children requires significant physical demands, including the ability to lift 40 pounds, and flexibility to work on the floor or at the level of the children in your care. The responsibilities of this job will vary depending on the candidates education and work experience. The typical day includes a variety of classroom activities as well as help with meals, toileting, napping and outdoor play..

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

The Buffalo Grove Montessori School Inc. is a not for profit corporation in the State of Illinois (1984). Originally founded as Arlington Heights Little People's Montessori School in 1975, the school seeks to promote and encourage educational training and instruction of young children of any race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin. The school was founded by Deborah and Victor LaPorte. In 1984 the school moved to Buffalo Grove. In 1988 we moved to our current and permanent location at 950 Ellen Drive in Buffalo Grove. Buffalo Grove Montessori currently serves approximately 100 families ranging in age from six weeks old through kindergarten. Our mission is to provide education and childcare following the Montessori philosophy. It is our goal to provide the children of our community the opportunity to grow and develop in an enriching Montessori environment. The environment is prepared to interest your child and meet ever changing developmental needs. Independence, concentration, and joyful learning are valued. We facilitate, encourage, and empower the children through experiences that will lead to positive fulfillment of personal potential.
