    BUFFALO MARKET - The leading distributor of mission-driven food and beverage brands. Specializing in good for the Earth, good for you, organic, and plant-based food and beverage brand distribution and servicing. We are looking to hire for the role of Merchandiser. Below is a summary of what you will be expected to do as a Merchandiser for Buffalo Market. As a Merchandiser, you'll visit stores from within the OAKLAND area and complete tasks for Buffalo Market's clients. WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON Each store on your route will have one or more projects. You'll follow step-by-step instructions in the app. EXAMPLES OF THE TYPES OF WORK YOU WILL DO ARE EXPLAINED BELOW: AUDITS Enter Data and Take Photos of Items You will find certain products and/or promotions and enter data and take photos of them. Examples of information you'd enter include:

    • Product presence (in-stock, out-of-stock, or not carried)
    • Number of facings
    • Tag status
    • Promotional status
    • Price
    • On-shelf inventory
    • Shelf position
    • Expiration dates
    • Shelf or cooler type and size

    Every store visit will include an Audit. MERCHANDISING Hands-on work to improve product presentation Examples of merchandising tasks include:

    • Restocking with inventory from the store's backroom
    • Adding stickers or other promotional materials to certain products
    • Setting up promotional displays
    • Re-tagging items
    • Facing products and tidying up the display
    • General maintenance

    For these projects, you'll document your work with before and after photos as well as with data about the details. BRAND REPRESENTATION Meet with store managers on behalf of clients As a Lead Merchandiser, you'll represent Buffalo Market's clients in stores. You'll meet with managers and discuss things such as:

    • Adding secondary placement
    • Helping with Roadshows and Product Demonstrations
    • Getting tags added or fixed
    • New products
    • Upcoming promotions
    • How the client's products are selling
    • We are looking for individuals who fit in best with the job requirements and employment history coupled with the desire to build a career within Grocery Distribution.

    • A morning person (typical day starts between 4 am and 5 am)

    • YOU HAVE A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE

    • PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS IS A PLUS, BUT NOT REQUIRED:

    • Previous grocery store or industry experience

    • PREVIOUS MERCHANDISING EXPERIENCE

    • Previous outside sales experience

    • PREVIOUS ROUTE SALES OR DISTRIBUTION EXPERIENCE

    • Previous warehouse experience

    PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH INVENTORY CONTROL We offer:

    • $22 HOUR DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

    • A part-time position (32 hours maximum) with the possibility for full time in the future

    • Mileage (.56 cents per mile) for travel between store locations

    • The desire to learn about the grocery distribution industry or continue to grow with your current experience.
