The Corporate Payroll Specialist I is a key member of the Corporate Payroll and Benefits Management team that will be responsible for preparation, tabulation, validation and distribution of weekly payrolls for Buffalo Rock Company locations. Additionally, the position will maintain/report employee-partner time, track PTO and absences, reconcile/report withholding taxes, etc. as well as support the Payroll department as needed. Essential Functions Statement(s) Performs a wide variety of record keeping and payroll processing activities, including entry of wage and overtime payments, rate/salary changes, PTO and payroll deductions. Process weekly payroll for assigned locations with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness. Research and process manual checks for payroll errors, lost/stolen checks, etc. Prepares/distributes reports of punches posted, time worked, earnings, taxes, deductions, etc. Maintains time tracking, payroll and attendance software programs Maintains secure payroll records. Enter, review and report driver payroll (Corporate and temporary). Distribute Corporate payroll advices weekly. Prepare, log and mail out garnishment checks weekly. Enter garnishments (creditor, child support, bankruptcy, etc.) and maintain log of garnishment records and related employment verifications sent to applicable locations Create and log badges for all employees and disseminate to applicable locations/managers. Set-up maintain building access for Corporate employees. Re-print W-2 forms and disseminate as needed. Serve as backup, as needed, for all payroll and benefit functions. Maintains records concerning leave accrued/taken and associated balances. Handle management/employee inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolutions Must adhere to and enforce the organizations payroll related policies, procedures and regulations. Must demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality with sound judgment and tact. Work duties may be expanded based upon performance/completion of assigned tasks and departmental need to meet customer demand. Responsible for continuous self-improvement through the knowledge and use of all Buffalo Rock provided training, either web-based, in-house, or any other provided method. Must successfully complete assigned training curriculum, including but not limited to online and/or facilitated training. SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required Experience: Minimum of 1 year of verifiable payroll experience using payroll processing software. Oracle payroll processing software experience preferred. Minimum of 1 year of verifiable time maintenance/tracking experience using time tracking software. EmpowerTime time tracking software experience preferred. Computer Skills: Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of software with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel. Other Requirements: Strong communication skills written and verbal. Strong organization skills in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and follow through to resolve any outstanding issues. Self-motivated with a drive for continuous improvement. Team oriented. WORK ENVIRONMENT Primarily inside work with most working hours in an office environment.
