Builders VC is an early-stage venture capital firm focused on investing where technology meets new business models to modernize antiquated industries including healthcare, agriculture, industrials and real-estate. With offices in San Francisco, Calgary, and San Antonio we operate a distributed investment team and invest from seed to Series-A. With over $400MM of AUM and the launch of the second fund we are seeking MBA interns throughout the school year to help us conduct a number of major industry and sector deep dives to build up the core thesis components in each of our sectors. 

Job Description

• Conduct industry deep-dive & landscape analysis in the four core pillars for Builders VC. More specifically we are seeking help with our internal landscape studies that include the following:

• Broad Landscape Analysis:

  • Ex: Regenerative Agriculture 
  • Review sub-sectors (i.e. Soil Carbon / Carbon Marketplaces / AgLending etc.)
  • Help us find the white space in these sub-sectors for us to focus efforts around

   

• Focused Deep Dives:

  • Ex: Digital Freight Brokerages 
  • Build out a taxonomy of companies in the category
  • Conduct primary research talking with customers 
  • Input data into database for prioritization for deal funnel

Qualifications

• Intellectual curiosity into core areas of technology related to agriculture, healthcare, industrials and proptech 
• Experience with market research and content writing is a plus 
• Operational experience at a start-up is a plus (but not necessary);
• Having acquired a strong analytics and strategy tool kit in strategy consulting, investment banking or a commercial or financial role in tech.
