    Job Description

    Building Evaluation Services & Technology (BEST), located in Frederick, Maryland, continues to grow and has a great opportunity for a full-time Administrative Assistant.  We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and focused individual to assist and support our team.

    This position is responsible for aiding the Office Manager and Production Team in preparing, proofing, and editing Architectural/Engineering Assessment Reports, as well the day to day administrative duties.  This must be done with superb accuracy in spelling and grammar.  The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and be able to take initiative.  Must be able to communicate effectively and have good problem solving skills.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Answer phones and direct incoming calls;
    • Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms;
    • Update and maintain records and databases;
    • Review, proof, and make edits to Architectural/Engineering Reports;
    • Review reports for completeness and obtain additional information as necessary;
    • Ability to manage multiple projects with superb accuracy;
    • Ability to effectively prioritize assignments while paying close attention to detail; and
    • Special projects as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • An Associate's Degree in Business or English is helpful;
    • A minimum of 1+ years office/administrative experience;
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe;
    • A typing speed of at least 50 words per minute;
    • Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task;
    • Sufficient math skills;
    • Ability to solve problems or make recommendations to correct issues;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Training for this position will take place in office. Following the 90-day training period, remote work options may be available depending on the status of the Covid-19 pandemic.
