    This position is located in Alexandria, VABuilding Maintenance Technician Job Summary: The Building Maintenance Technician performs building operations, customer service, and community enhancement. This team player will complete or assist with electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating, and other trades within a commercial or government building. Daily duties include working with the property management team to perform preventive maintenance, respond to service tickets, and provide a safe environment for building tenants and visitors. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:$24 to $26 per hour depending on experienceMedical, dental & vision insurancePaid time off401K, after the initial work probation periodUniforms and Cell phone reimbursement are available at the time of hirePRIMARY BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform building and systems inspections, making necessary modifications to building systemsComplete Preventive and Corrective Maintenance requests professionallyWork with vendors to complete contracted work orders to meet expectationsMaintain records, reports, and evaluations, and provide recommendations regarding building maintenance operationsIdentify and order parts, materials, equipment, and supplies as neededManage Building Management System (BMS) / Energy Management System (EMS) as neededMaintain a clean engineering shop, mechanical plant, mechanical rooms, and general building appearanceFollow all safety rules and regulationsPerform related work as requiredQUALIFICATIONS:1 - 3 years maintaining equipment and systems in commercial or government buildingsDemonstrated mechanical skills and abilities with HVAC equipmentExperience and skills in operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, installing, and repairing equipmentTechnology skills necessary to manage work order applications on mobile phone and learn to operate Building Automation SystemsHigh School diploma or equivalent, and must be able to communicate effectively in EnglishOccasionally work overtime to perform necessary repairs or maintenance that are necessary to complete during off-hoursMust meet the occupation requirements, such as lifting 50 lbs., walking distances, kneeling for 1 hour, and climbing ladders.Must have reliable transportationMust be willing to take a drug screening and complete a background check
