    Job Description

    BMD is currently seeking a Customer Service Representative at our Eureka, CA. This position plays a fundamental role in achieving BMD Inc. profitability and revenue growth objectives. This person is responsible to build and develop a sales opportunity pipeline by conducting internet researches, making outbound calls, qualifying new prospects, and helping the sales team to successfully close those opportunities.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Receives telephone and faxed orders from customers in a friendly and professional manner and processes requests under the direction of the Inside Sales Manager, maintains extensive knowledge of product information, accepts a proactive role in selling products, and responds to customer needs

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    1. Uses friendly and professional conduct in receiving all calls
    2. Stays logged into the phone system 90% of the workday and answers every call before the third ring
    3. Devotes adequate attention to key account holders
    4. Keys in telephoned, emailed and faxed orders into company database
    5. Follows up with open orders as needed
    6. Maintains working relationship with outside sales representatives, communicating prices and other requested information as needed
    7. Resolves purchasing and delivery discrepancies and recommends appropriate action to correct errors
    8. Create quotes in AS400 and distribute to customer and / or OSR
    9. Create work orders for collateral materials
    10. Work shipped less than ordered and pre-invoice audit report
    11. Coordinate with customer on Simpson “Spec non cat” disclaimer
    12. Work Small Order Program
    13. Try to move slow moving inventory specials (SDO)
    14. Audit handler order status, (make sure there are no status 10 or 00’s at day’s end)
    15. Create inventory hold tags
    16. Writes requests for credit/debit memos for review by Building Products Inside Sales Division Manager
    17. Stays continuously updated on product information
    18. Makes scripted outbound calls to customers regarding product information and updates
    19. Submit IT work orders using Community Manager for any computer problems
    20. Expected to attend frequent product-training meetings before and after regular work hours and during lunch times.
    21. Performs other duties as requested by the Building Products Inside Sales Division Manager
