This architecture firm with offices in San Jose is looking for a high-energy Design Director to join their Workplace Interiors Studio, to work on high-profile projects in the tech industry. The ideal candidate will have strong design skills, a backlog and love of business development, and plenty of experience in workplace spaces for tech companies. 

Responsibilities:

• Design lead for multiple interior design teams
• Provide guidance to other designers
• Act as the primary contact for clients, building and sustaining relationships with client contacts
• Proactive in Business Development activities with strong skills in communicating clearly and succinctly 
• Be the main point-of-contact for consultants, contractors, and other related agencies
• Be a mentor to other designers and staff in their own professional growth
• Engage in professional activities, including presenting at professional conferences, writing articles and other publications, and engaging on social media

Qualifications:

• 15 years of experience minimum in the interiors sector
• Leadership experience within the Workplace Interiors sector
• LEED certification and licensure preferred, but not required
• Strong Revit skills a plus; ability to navigate Revit required
• Experience in ideating creative and sustainable solutions 
• Ability to manage teams through the entire life cycle of a project
• Excellent client interfacing skills
• Excellent professional relationship skills
• Experience with business development, ideally in the Workplace sector

This position is remote until it is safe to reopen offices according to CDC guidelines. Candidates must be willing to relocate to San Jose once directed to do so.
