    Position Title: Director of Collaboration and Communications

    Location: Denver, Colorado

    Type:  Hybrid (some in-office days & on-site events)

    Salary: $80,000 - $125,000 (plus competitive benefits package)

    The Opportunity:

    As a Director based in Denver, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating collaborative processes, community engagement initiatives, and project management endeavors. Your responsibilities will involve translating complex issues surrounding public transportation, land use, natural resources, water, and energy into accessible narratives, both locally and nationally. We are seeking individuals with a demonstrated track record in navigating public and private sector dynamics, particularly in Colorado and nationally. Passion for collaborative problem-solving and process innovation is fundamental. Applicants from diverse backgrounds, including mediation, public policy, environmental studies, and communications, are encouraged to apply.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Engage with clients directly and manage project tasks efficiently.
    • Develop work plans and oversee project management activities.
    • Foster problem-solving approaches across project lifecycles.
    • Interface with clients throughout all project phases.
    • Facilitate discussions with diverse stakeholders, communities, and Tribes.
    • Small and large group process design and facilitation.
    • Design and implement engagement strategies, including stakeholder outreach plans.
    • Plan and execute various forms of public meetings, workshops, and events.
    • Lead thought leadership initiatives in communication and engagement domains.
    • Conduct research and stay abreast of industry trends.
    • Contribute to internal team coordination and business development efforts.
    • Develop project proposals including budgets.
    • Manage contract administration; invoice and expense report preparation.

    Qualifications:

    Essential:

    • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in public engagement, facilitation, mediation, or related fields.
    • Proven expertise in facilitating complex policy and planning processes.
    • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and collaborations across sectors, organizations, and diverse people.
    • Consulting experience in areas such as transportation, water, climate, and community planning.
    • Demonstrated commitment to assisting people of diverse backgrounds, interests, and partisan views in resolving conflict and strengthening collaboration.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including translating complex concepts into accessible materials.
    • Proficiency in project management and multitasking.
    • Willingness to travel within Colorado as required.

    Desirable:

    • Advanced degree in relevant fields such as environmental management, public policy, or conflict resolution.
    • Familiarity with project management tools and collaboration technologies.
    • Fluency in languages other than English.

    Education, Certifications, Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree, minimum.  Fields could include environmental management and /or policy, natural resource management, environmental science, public policy, conflict analysis, dispute resolution.
    • Profession experience in a facilitator role or in a different topic area with significant facilitation, public process or community engagement components may be considered.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    • Competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $125,000.
