    The Project Accountant is responsible for managing all financial details of the firm's projects from start to finish. The Project Accountant engages with Project Managers and Principals as a business advisor, partnering with them on key aspects of Project Management, including but not limited to project set up, fee analysis, billing, revenue forecasting and collections. The Project Accountant also owns the Accounts Payable, Cash Receipts, and Purchase Order reconciliation processes. This position requires independent handling of day-to-day project accounting and administrative work.

    The successful candidate will be a self-starter who takes ownership of tasks from start to finish, determining what needs to be done with limited input and supervision.

    Responsibilities:

    • Partner closely with the firm's Project Managers and Principals on project set up, status, billing, and collections
    • Advise Project Managers on optimal project/billing set up for anomalous contracts or client requirements
    • Maintain billing schedule and produce accurate, timely invoices
    • Manage weekly AP process including receiving, coding, and entering AP, generating checks, and requesting wire transfers
    • Work closely with the firm's Purchasing Manager to account for funds received and paid for furnishing purchases, including logging and applying client retainers and furniture deposits
    • Ensure purchasing activity is recorded accurately for Sales Tax reporting
    • Maintain files and filing system for all records associated with invoices, projects, purchasing, accounts payable, etc.

    Qualifications:

    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize and stay organized with multiple projects
    • Proactive communication with leadership regarding financial risks, trends
    • Solid foundation in accounting principles and practice
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Excellent communication skills with both internal and external clients
    • Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
    • Advanced proficiency with Deltek Vision or similar ERP software
    • Experience with purchase order processes a plus, but not a requirement
