A mid-size landscape architecture firm seeks a full-time Junior Artist to join their team. This company focuses on luxury residential gardens, and has a dialed-in design aesthetic that is sought by their clients around the Los Angeles area.
This firm has traditionally had an artist on staff at all times; their last artist worked for the firm for 12 years. They are looking for a Junior Artist to join their collaborative studio with 2-3 years of experience who has not only the digital rendering skills, but a talent and passion for hand rendering.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Design Staff on design research and development
- Draft digital and/or hand renderings based on concepts and plans provided by Design Staff
- Create 3D models from both detailed architectural plans or concept drawings and existing site photography, depending on the phase of design
- Maintain and refine existing graphic and 3D modeling standards, as well as general aesthetic standards for all deliverables produced
- Update social media platforms
- Digital photo archive management
- Digital archives for reference images (hardscape, found pieces, plant images, etc.)
- Mock-ups (foam-core construction skills)
- General office assistance including scanning, printing, labeling, etc.
Skills:
- Hand drawing skills with emphasis on perspective, tree/plant rendering, architectural rendering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye towards catching and fixing typos
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Enscape
- Knowledge of Rhino, Lumion, AutoCAD a plus
- Graphic sensibility, for presentation layout and design
*Note: This is a full-time position and is ideally in-office, but open to a WFH/office hybrid model
