    THE POSITION

    This Vice-President of Business Services position serves as a leader within the company’s seasoned and cohesive business team collaborating with the firm’s Managing Principals, Management Team, Finance Team, People & Operations Team, and Marketing Team. This position will supervise Contracts & Compliance, ERP Systems, and IT departments.

     THE ROLE

    • Proactively partner with Managing Principals and Management Team to operationalize vision, culture, processes, and strategy to address business challenges and opportunities.
    • Develop and enforce compliance that adheres to federal, state, and local business requirements.
    • Drive financial, and business conversations including conducting negotiations and addressing compliance matters, with business partners, prime contractors, and government contracting officials.
    • Monitor and manage business aspects of key contracts to achieve profitability goals and fulfill compliance requirements.
    • Collaborate with People & Operations to support systems and processes to enhance employee productivity and satisfaction and to ensure that team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met.
    • Collaborate with Finance on strategic initiatives such as planning, forecasting, budgeting, identifying opportunities for saving costs and maximizing profits.
    • Facilitate a technologically intuitive environment and operationalize new systems or tools that promotes collaboration and efficiency.
    • Review and reinvent processes to improve workflow efficiencies.

     SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the Contract & Compliance, IT, and ERP Systems departments.
    • Oversees the daily workflow of the Contracts & Compliance, IT, and ERP Systems departments.
    • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations for the Contracts & Compliance, IT, and ERP Systems departments.
    • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy for the Contracts & Compliance, IT, and ERP Systems departments.

     OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Analyze internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement in collaboration with departmental heads.
    • Develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with management.
    • Work with Business Services Team, Managing Principals, and Management Team to ensure weekly, monthly, and annual Business Services Team priorities are met.
    • Build and maintain trusting relationships with key business contacts for customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
    • Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
    • Work with Finance to define and aggressively manage key performance indicators.
    • Work with Management to monitor overall performance and suggest corrective solutions when necessary, using forecasting and financial analysis tools developed with the help of Finance.
    • Creatively structure contracts to maximize billing rates and negotiate favorable terms for expenses and subconsultants, when applicable.
    • Manage key contracts and project expenses to ensure the company achieves targets for growth and profitability.
    • Serve as the corporate legal liaison for government contracts with corporate council.
    • Establish and maintain an efficient project and company related document management structure (RFPs, Contracts, Task Orders, etc.)
    • Develop and implement robust Project Management systems and processes.
    • Assist with the integration of new Unanet ERP platforms/interface.
    • Support People & Operations in managing Performance Based Compensation Program.
    • Manage state and local business licenses, and certifications
    • Negotiate business insurance policies annually.
    • Facilitate a self-service environment where business and team leaders can access reporting and business platforms to assess performance.
    • Support acquisition efforts by identifying, performing due diligence, and structuring deals with companies that complement and expand the services and geographical reach of K&W.

     REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES

    • Business mindset to foresee potential issues, diagnose problems, recommend solutions, and implement decisions quickly and collaboratively.
    • Leadership skills with steadfast resolve, personal and professional integrity, strong delegation, and mentorship abilities.
    • Understanding of advanced business planning, forecasting, and compliance issues.
    • Technology native, ability to leverage digital platforms with a solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics.
    • Hands-on working style and willingness to approach challenges with energy, resourcefulness, and creativity.
    • Commitment to equity and mentorship.
    • Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and finance.
    • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Unanet

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
    • 10 or more years of experience in executive leadership positions within Professional Services firms.
    • Prior experience with a fast-growing business that presents competing priorities, challenges of dealing with the unknown.
    • Experience and knowledge of contracting with federal and state government agencies including basic understanding of FAR.
    • Experience in Unanet ERP System implementation and roll out a plus.
