    An architecture + interiors firm in San Francisco is looking for a Project Architect (or a Senior Job Captain, if unlicensed) to join the "architecture side" of their firm. This company is looking for someone who can mentor more junior staff, contribute to a positive team environment, and grow into a leadership position.

    This firm focuses on commercial workplace and interiors (both new build and adaptive-reuse) and has a great reputation for their supportive and fair company culture that prioritizes their employee’s needs.

    The Project Architect’s primary focus is to assist and lead the team in the development of aesthetic and technical design of a project.

    Roles and responsibilities:

    • Conduct architectural studies, develop design criteria, and prepare reports, calculations, and detailed design
    • Prepare material, write construction specifications, and prepare detailed construction documents
    • Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and owners in a proactive integrated project-delivery process throughout all project phases, including design, construction and delivery
    • Coordinate and monitor the activities of project staff to ensure deliverables are met
    • Maintain awareness of scope, schedule, budget, and status of all assigned projects
    • Develop and maintain client relationships (including attending industry events and building up your own network)
    • Assist with the preparation of proposals
    • Participate in the presentation of plans and documents to authorities for land use, zoning, and permit approvals
    • Ensure quality control throughout the life of the project Support, direct, and mentor staff within a team building atmosphere

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture from an accredited school
    • Licensed and registered in the State of California (or, unlicensed and working towards licensure for a Sr. Job Captain position)
    • 7-10 years of post-graduate experience
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Technical detailing experience on commercial projects (both new build and adaptive reuse)
    • Advanced knowledge of building systems, sustainability, MEP systems and the basics of structural
    • Strong 3D technical capabilities and experience using Revit, AutoCAD, and Enscape
