Strategic Partnerships Grants Intern – Spring 2023
OVERVIEW
Building Tomorrow, Inc., an international social-profit organization delivering literacy and numeracy to children in underserved areas in Uganda, invites interested individuals to apply for our Strategic Partnerships Grants Intern position.
THE ORGANIZATION
Started in 2006, Building Tomorrow equips communities to support universal access to inclusive, quality education. Through a team of 150 Building Tomorrow Fellows and over 7,000 Community Education Volunteers, Building Tomorrow will deliver its Roots to Rise literacy and numeracy programming to more than 100,000 learners in 2022 in response to a nearly two-year closure of schools in Uganda. Between offices in the USA and Uganda, Building Tomorrow has a full-time staff of nearly 175, just seven of whom work in the United States. Building Tomorrow has received funding and recognition for its innovative work from the Mastercard Foundation, Clinton Global Initiative, Educate A Child, Echoing Green, Big Bang Philanthropy, and Forbes Magazine. More information can be found online at: www.buildingtomorrow.org.
The Strategic Partnerships team, headquartered in Building Tomorrow's Indianapolis office, is responsible for identifying, cultivating, securing, and stewarding funding from institutional and individual partners, as well as liaising with volunteers and other stakeholders. In 2022, Building Tomorrow has raised over $3 million in funds for the current operating year, and we look to be able to further scale our programs with additional multi-year investments from philanthropic foundations, individual gifts, event revenue, and multilateral organizations and donor governments.
