  • Responsibilities

    Division/Department: MAINTENANCE Reports To: Building and Grounds Supervisor, Director of Maintenance

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsible for Equipment / Facility inspection and upkeep (include cleaning) and physical maintenance job duties in the following areas: Equipment Inspection, Maintenance and cleaning, Shelter/Grounds/Facility Maintenance and Vehicle/Tire Maintenance. Perform comprehensive tire service on transit fleet, trucks and company automobiles.

    Equipment Inspection, Maintenance and Cleaning

    Duties include, but are not limited to conducting daily, 30 day, quarterly, semi-annual and annual inspections on assigned equipment as required

    Responsible to conduct user maintenance and authorized repairs on assigned equipment as required or directed

    Responsible for changing/replacing A/C filters, replacing light bulbs and fixtures and outside A/C unit washing as needed or requested.

    Ensuring equipment is cleaned and put back in proper location at end of shift (not left in truck bed or cab)

    Responsible for completing pull offs for road calls as delegated by a supervisor or leader on duty.

    Weekly washing and cleaning of utility assigned vehicle(s)

    Shelter/Grounds/Facility Maintenance Workers responsible for maintenance, cleanliness and presentation of company buildings and grounds.

    Shelter duties include, but are not limited to shelter install, shelter removal, shelter repair, shelter assembly/disassembly and inventory

    o Install, remove and repair bus stop signs, schedule signs, trash cans, benches and inventory when required

    o When needed assist in the mowing and trimming (to include trees and bushes) within 5 feet of shelter

    Facility maintenance duties include, but are not limited to, minor electrical and plumbing work (items you would fix around the house), painting (interior/exterior), repair drywall, repair replace tile floor and ceiling tiles

    o Cleaning external windows (above 6 feet)

    o Pressure washing Intermodal, South West Hub, Bossier Hub and Jack Wells locations as required

    o Minor plumbing and electrical labor, minor building repairs and upgrades, trash collection and disposal, changing light bulbs/ballasts, fueling transit fleet as needed, timely cleaning and disposal oil spills, replacing flat or damaged tires on transit fleet as needed and washing and cleaning transit fleet/company automobiles when needed or requested.

    Grounds Maintenance duties include, but are not limited to include cutting, trimming grass, bushes trees and picking up trash as required

    o Applying weed killer as required

    o Blowing or racking cut grass, bushes, and tree limbs and disposing of

    o Pull weeds and pick up trash from flower beds, water flower beds.

    Vehicle/Tire Maintenance responsible for comprehensive vehicle and tire servicing transit fleet and company automobiles.

    Duties include, but are not limited to mounting, dis-mounting and balancing tires for all buses, vans and company automobiles

    o Maintain tire count maintenance and availability, works with parts clerk on ordering

    o Ensure enough mounted tires on rims to satisfy mission accomplishment

    o Checks and documents tire depth tread and pressure weekly on all revenue vehicles.

    o Completes all required paperwork computer tasks as necessary

    Ensure all required duty checklists are completed and accurate in compliance with company policy

    Utility workers must be able to perform all essential functions of Maintenance Cleaner in assigned work areas as requested.

    Utility workers must be able to perform all essential job functions for Maintenance Utility Worker in all assigned work areas as requested.

    Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor

    Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

    DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Ability to work in varying weather conditions.

    • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices within 60 days of employment

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent MUST be available to work varying shifts to include days, nights, weekends and holidays. MUST be able to pass physical agility tests with no limitations on upper or lower back. MUST be able to walk, stoop, kneel, bend, push and/or pull to complete moderate to heavy lifting when necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. Ability to work in varying weather conditions. MUST have valid Driver’s License upon hire with the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement within 120 days of employment Not afraid of heights Ability to operate a computer/tablet Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices within 60 days of employment.

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION All positions are Safety Sensitive and subject to pre-employment requirements to include: drug test, background check, and clean driving record.

    Eligible applicants will have no more than two (2) moving violations in the past five years and no convictions of a serious traffic violation (i.e., DWI, driving with a suspended, canceled or revoked license) in the past five years.
