Now the Company seeks to leverage that thought leadership in developing systematic marketing channels for its data and solutions. As we accelerate our growth across core education, human capital management, and public sector markets, expand internationally, and invest heavily in developing applications and platforms that drive actionable insights from our data, we are seeking a proven, hands-on leader to build a best-in-class, data-driven marketing function. The successful candidate will improve articulation of our products and their value propositions; drive coordinated social media and digital marketing campaigns; craft narratives for a broad range of target communities; partner closely with our product and sales teams on questions of fit, pricing, and market potential; and refocus the website and collateral to support lead capture and revenue generation across disparate lines of business.

    The Vice President of Marketing will be a key member of the executive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, high-energy marketing professional with experience in working with analytical product sets who is eager to bring new ideas and help a great company build on a track record of growth.


    • Developing and implementing appropriate marketing channels, content, and approaches for our three distinct client bases: education, human capital management, and public sector;
    • Developing customer segmentation, cross-product strategies, and targeted messaging;
    • Crafting strategies for articulating the value of Burning Glass in new markets and around new products while repositioning the value of Burning Glass in certain legacy markets;
    • Driving a digital marketing and social media strategy that will expand our audiences and contribute to conversions;
    • Setting metric-driven goals for proving the effectiveness of various initiatives and holding the go-to-market team accountable for them;
    • Working closely with the sales team to stay attuned to market needs;
    • Growing new leads, including marketing-qualified leads, and increase conversions on our digital properties;
    • Optimizing our marketing automation and lead nurturing processes through email, content, and social channels;
      • Driving consistent, relevant traffic and leads from our social network presence;
    • Continuously refine our process for converting customers by tracking, measuring, and analyzing all initiatives for ROI and establishing closed-loop analytics with sales to understand how our inbound marketing activity drives customer acquisitions; and
    • Developing strategies for spearheading Burning Glass's entry into new markets.


    • Track record of implementing innovative and disruptive marketing ideas;
    • Strong social media skills, including demonstrated track record of generating “followers” and boosting social media ROI;
    • Outstanding communication skills with deep appreciation for and ability to craft persona-driven narrative with strong emotional impact;
    • Background in promoting brand awareness both for mature and break-through product lines;
    • Experience in working with data-centric products and in at least one of our core markets (i.e. education, human capital management, or public sector);
    • Comfort operating within a fast-paced, high-growth, innovative culture;
    • Experience in international markets a plus; and
    • Knowledge of Salesforce, Pardot, Google Analytics, or similar, and of website design a strong plus.
