About the Position
The Architect will define, drive, and manage the company's architecture function supporting Burning Glass's products. This key Boston-based role will work closely with key stakeholders, including product management, engineering, quality assurance and DevOps and the technology leadership team to optimize our technology architectures to meet the company's objectives. The Architect must possess superb technology skills in a multitude of disciplines capable of defining, constructing, and communicating architecture principles to the broad product development team. Burning Glass's products cover web scraping, machine learning, big data, and web application technologies.
Responsibilities
The Architect leads the company's architecture function including introducing new technologies, providing engineers teams advice and reviews on technology proposals, and governing the architecture process. This key leadership position maintains the following responsibilities:
Provides architecture guidance to disparate engineering teams via research, prototyping, and experience
Governs the introduction of new technology concepts, artifacts, and vendors via the company's document architecture process
Maintains the enterprise manifest of utilized and approved technologies
Drives and documents the two year architecture roadmap for the enterprise
Collaborates with the product management team to insure architecture meets business objectives including cost
Mentors engineering team members on best practices using approved technologies
Requirements
Bachelor's degree with five or more years of professional architecture experience
5 to 7 years of experience in software industry with varied experience amongst big data and web application solutions
Experience with the following required:
Low code platforms
Embedded business intelligence solutions
Microsoft development stack
Java development stack
Amazon Web Services with an emphasis on serverless architectures
Snowflake cloud database
Machine learning systems including AWS Sagemaker
Networking and security certifications a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication
