    Job Description

    What You’ll Do

    The Practice Manager sets the strategy and direction for the Cybersecurity team, which is responsible for the business case, architecture, design, and implementation of Cybersecurity solution engagements. The Cybersecurity Practice Manager is focused on driving excellence and profitability across Burwood’s accounts in the practice, while enhancing the client’s Burwood experience. As the Practice Manager, you will work with our sales and market lead teams to create and deliver solutions relevant and provide value to our customers.

    Within this role you will:

    • Drive toward services revenue and margin targets on a quarterly basis for the practice by maximizing potential of team members, driving project profitability, and meeting sales goals
    • Own the Cybersecurity practice vision to bring new solutions (and enhance existing) to market that combine cybersecurity assessments, gap analyses, process/governance/compliance efforts, tool selection and implementation, and other cybersecurity capabilities to meet the needs of the market
    • Drive solution maturity and practice area growth through evaluation of solutions, vendors and partners
    • Ensure the solutions/offerings of the practice are strategically aligned to the client marketplace as well as to Burwood’s defined company goals and objectives.
    • Provide leadership and direction to the team and drive technical and consulting skills development.
    • This role reports to Senior Vice President of AppDev, Data, Cloud, Infrastructure, & Security Services

    People Management

    Burwood’s people are the most vital part of our organization. As a Practice Manager you will be directly involved in managing team resources. These responsibilities include:

    • Developing and retaining a high performing staff
    • Creating an environment that brings out the best in your teams
    • Model the behavior, train, and mentor your team of Consultants and Technical Architects to understand client challenges and design solutions that drive customer engagement
    • Ensuring that HR policies are adhered to and managing performance by providing mentoring, coaching, and conducting quarterly employee reviews, regular 1:1s, etc.
    • Serving as a role model for service delivery and technical excellence across the practice

    Engagement Management

    • Driving accountability of Burwood’s high client service and consulting standards across the practice
    • Ensuring best practices are being followed through the course of an engagement
    • Overseeing staffing meetings and make decisions with respect to staffing for the practice
    • Managing the use of contractors with respect to overall revenue targets and budget
    • Acting as a point of escalation for staffing and service delivery issues
    • Tracking project portfolio issues/risks and be the point of escalation for service delivery issues
    • Tracking, managing, and reporting monthly on practice project overages

    Business Development and Client Relationship Management

    • Driving business development by participating in the sales process for new and strategic opportunities
    • Partnering with Account Executives, Technical Architects and Market Unit teams to drive business in select accounts
    • Maintaining relationships with client leadership on assigned accounts
    • Developing new practice offerings (identifying market trends and developing solutions)

    Team Capabilities

    • Develop & provide quality customer deliverable documentation including design documents, test plans and project plans
    • Participate in pre-sales activities and the proposal development process
    • Support sales efforts through education, lead generation and customer relationship management

    • You have a strong consulting background and have worked through the full project lifecycle from sales to rollout for various Cybersecurity initiatives.

    • Have a track record of building and continuously evolving your teams to meet the needs of the customer, organization, and its people
    • Your tenure and expertise make you credible and capable of leading conversations/relationships at Director Level and above within both technology and contact center business units.
    • You build relationships and bring considerable value, partnering with clients as a trusted advisor.
    • You provide leadership both internally and externally to move work forward and meet objectives.
    • You are dedicated to continual learning and staying current on technology to always have a point-of-view worth sharing.
    • You have excellent communications skills whether that be in-person, over-the-phone, or messaging.
    • You don’t mind responsibility, you’re accountable for your work and dedicated to a job well done.
    • You have strong business acumen and are adept at communicating across all levels how technical solutions solve business problems.
    • You’re willing to travel as needed (Estimated 15-20%)

    The Tech Stuff

    • Experience with security protocols, procedures, and governance
    • Experience with delivering and supporting relevant security technologies and services (Risk Management, Vulnerability Management, Incident Response, Business Continuity, Encryption, Data Loss Prevention, discreet investigations.
    • Thorough knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams), Vulnerability Assessment tools, firewall technologies, SIEM, DLP, Identity Management platform services and products.
    • Deep experience with Cybersecurity concepts, tools, frameworks, ideally with 7-10+ years of experience
    • Experience delivering or overseeing AppDev capabilities (automation, scripting, coding, CLI)
    • Cloud and on-premises architecture, tooling experience a must
      • Google, Microsoft, AWS
    • Capable of understanding infrastructure concepts across multiple disciplines (e.g., network, desktop, data, storage, etc.)
