    Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Group Home Bus Driver to join our team! The Group Home Bus Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and timely transportation for individuals residing in the group home. This role ensures that all passengers are transported to and from scheduled appointments, day programs, community outings, and other activities in compliance with state regulations and agency policies. The Bus Driver maintains the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of the vehicle, conducts routine inspections, and communicates effectively with staff regarding transportation needs. This position plays a vital role in supporting the well-being, independence, and community integration of residents by delivering courteous service, prioritizing safety, and demonstrating patience and professionalism at all times.

    Responsibilities

    Safely transport residents to and from appointments, day programs, community activities, and other scheduled destinations.

    Perform daily vehicle safety checks, including fuel, fluids, tires, lights, and emergency equipment, and report any maintenance needs promptly.

    Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring proper use of seatbelts, wheelchair restraints, and other safety devices.

    Maintain accurate transportation logs, trip records, and documentation required by agency policies and state regulations.

    Follow all traffic laws, safety guidelines, and group home procedures while maintaining a courteous, patient, and professional demeanor with residents and staff.

    Qualifications

    Clean driving record with no recent accidents or traffic citations

    Experience working with the Special Needs community

    Ability to remain calm in stressful situations

    Ability to follow GPS directions
