The Position:
We are looking for a technical minded Business Analyst who will be working on a QA team to translte complex customer and business requreiments into actionable user stories to create a high quality product.
Every day you will:
As the Business Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting stakeholder alignment and delivery prioritization for the evidence management backend and integrated device solutions. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure product direction is clear and well-executed, with a strong focus on quality and usability. Your deep understanding of the technical architecture and integration points will help translate complex customer and business needs into actionable requirements. You will also partner closely with development and QA teams to drive thorough test coverage and high product quality.
Essential Functions:
- Help to triage and re-prioritize the product defect backlog, balancing business value, technical feasibility, and customer impact.
- Act as a source of truth for product knowledge—understand every aspect of the evidence management solution, including backend services, device integrations, APIs, and cloud/on-prem infrastructure.
- Analyze and evaluate products and services and identify potential improvements areas for ongoing maintenance efforts as well as future development plan.
- Act as a primary UAT (User Acceptance Tester) and work with QA team to outline UAT strategy and release acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate effective communication and alignment among cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, QA, support, operations and external stakeholders.
- Translate customer and stakeholder needs into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate closely with development to ensure requirements are feasible and delivered on schedule.
- Contribute to QA strategy: review test plans, coverage, and results; identify gaps; recommend improvements to ensure high-quality releases.
- Maintain comprehensive product documentation, including user guides, technical specs, and release notes.
- Champion a customer-centric approach, advocating for usability, reliability, and performance in all product decisions.
- Monitor product performance and user feedback post-release to inform continuous improvement.
- Participate in various R&D development discussions and contribute to support entire product lifecycle
Core Competecies:
- Proven experience in environments involving tightly integrated software and hardware systems.
- Strong technical literacy with cloud-based architectures, microservices design, and API integrations.
- Strong database management and query skills for relational and non-relational database.
- Skilled in using Atlassian tools (Jira for backlog and sprint management, Confluence for documentation).
- Ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Expertise in writing clear user stories with detailed acceptance criteria and test cases.
- Experience overseeing and participating in QA processes and working closely with test engineers to improve coverage and defect detection.
- Exceptional organizational skills and detail orientation to manage complex workflows and dependencies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with curiosity to dive into root causes and technical details.
- Ability to balance competing priorities and make tradeoffs aligned with strategic goals.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of influencing without direct authority.
Your past experience:
- +5 years of experience in planning, driving, monitoring, and reporting software/hardware releases at enterprise level
- +5 years of experience in supporting software/hardware products
- +5 years of experience in gathering customer requirements and feedback.
- +3 years of experience in project management skills
- +2 years of experience working with offshore (or multi-location) teams
- +2 years of experience in status defining and presenting KPI
- Proficiency in technical writing and organization skills
