    About the Role

    Vital Tech Solutions is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a large-scale Grants Management System used by an educational agency responsible for administering over $2 billion in grant payments across multiple programs. The system consists of over 100 different grant applications and requires meticulous operational support and ongoing project initiative analysis.

    The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and will act as a key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders. This senior-level role involves leadership responsibilities such as delegating tasks, leading requirement meetings, and mentoring a team of business analysts.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and facilitate requirement gathering sessions independently with technical teams and business clients.
    • Maintain and prioritize backlog items using Azure DevOps.
    • Work in a hybrid Agile/Waterfall environment managing requirements, change requests, and testing efforts.
    • Oversee project tasks, timelines, and communication between business product owners and development teams throughout the change management lifecycle.
    • Track sprint progress and manage ticket workflow in Azure DevOps.
    • Ensure adherence to change management policies and compliance standards.
    • Liaise with auditors and other governance entities as needed.
    • Maintain and update project documentation on SharePoint.
    • Provide project status reports and resource demand forecasts to management.
    • Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to continuously improve business processes.

    Required Skills

    • 5+ years experience supporting complex IT web applications.
    • 5+ years experience gathering and documenting detailed business requirements.
    • 5+ years experience as a Business Analyst in software development projects.
    • 5+ years proven ability to lead meetings, conduct training sessions, and communicate effectively across various audiences.
    • 3+ years proficient with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • 2+ years experience serving as a liaison between development teams, project managers, and business clients.
    • 1+ year hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including creating user stories and managing queries.

    Preferred Skills

    • 2+ years understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
    • 1+ year experience with grant management systems at the federal, state, or local level.
    • 1+ year skills in creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using Figma or similar design tools.
    • 6+ months project management knowledge and experience with related methodologies.
    • 6+ months familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint.
    • 6+ months experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools such as Power BI and Power Automate.
