AV ESTIMATOR / PROPOSAL WRITER – AUDIO / VIDEO SYSTEM DESIGN

Business Communications Solutions (BCS) is an Audiovisual, Security and Access Control solutions design and installation company. We are looking for an EXPERIENCED detail-oriented, AV Programmer. The AV Programmer will be responsible for the programming activities of integrated Audio Video Systems.

The qualified candidate must have Low Voltage AV experience. This is a full-time position in a very active office. InfoComm, CTS Certification is a PLUS.

JOB DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

· Read and interpret AV systems drawings

· Gather programming requirements

· Produce new modules and interfaces

· Control System programming design to meet requirements and system capabilities

· User Interface programming to meet requirements and system capabilities

· Install control programs and touch panel design onsite, offsite, and remotely

· Perform commissioning and acceptance testing of code

· Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting as needed

· Demonstrate completed system to client

· Create programming-related documentation

· Maintain and update programming and code in installed systems

· Travel to various job sites required

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

· Proficient with test and calibration equipment

· Proficient in programming languages

· Proficient in uploading and downloading software in embedded systems

· Proficient in control system design (Crestron/AMX/Extron)

· Effective communication and interaction with employees, clients and colleagues

· Ability to diagnose and test complex system problems

· Advanced computer skills for the design, configuration, optimization and operations of AV equipment

· Understanding of computer networking and troubleshooting a plus

· Valid Driver’s License

This role includes programming audio & video systems including, but not limited to: audio & video conferencing, distributed audio & video switching, control systems (A/V, lighting, etc.), video wall & signage, and associated labor and programming costs for commercial, educational and hospitality projects. Candidate should also be familiar with automation of technologies (room automation), CCTV security and access control.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

· Commercial AV / Low Voltage experience of 2 years is REQUIRED; 4+ years is preferred.

· Research of new products.

· Experience with control systems such as Biamp / Crestron / Extron / Shure / QSC, distributed music and video systems, and networking.

• Automation systems experience / Construction management
• Video teleconferencing systems
• Video Wall experience
• Familiarity with reading wiring schematics in AutoCAD
• Excellent documentation skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• CTS or Advanced CTS certificate is extremely helpful
