    Breese Enterprises Inc is a FedEx Contractor for linehaul services hiring for a Full-time Business Contact (BC) / Operations Manager, you will oversee and coordinate all daily FedEx linehaul operations for a fleet of drivers in the Birmingham, AL area. This is a management-level role that requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership, and in-depth knowledge of FedEx Linehaul procedures to ensure the timely, safe, and efficient pickup and delivery of freight. You will be responsible for driver management, route optimization, vehicle maintenance, and adherence to company and FedEx compliance standards.

    We are looking for a reliable, professional and detail-oriented individual who will supervise a group of experienced drivers in their day-to-day routines. Past or present FedEx Experience is a Plus, along with prior management or BC experience. Logistics experience necessary. Active CDL with doubles endorsement is a Plus.

    Responsibilities:

    Lead, guide, mentor and manage a team of delivery professionals in a manner that drives service performance and metrics to a level exceeding FedEx Corp goals and standards

    Attend to day-to-day issues and resolve problems on the go

    Ensure an adequate number of staff is maintained to complete all assigned runs

    Responsible for understanding and estimating the daily service needs, managing equipment needs, dispatching drivers and optimizing routes for efficiency

    Manage and use of technology and applications

    Complete Daily Check Lists

    Maintain Pre Trip-Post Trip inspections with live demonstrations and training to drivers

    Good understanding of on timely pickups and freight from FedEx hubs and stations and managing procedures for exceptions

    Maintaining open communication with drivers

    Driver management: Handle all aspects of driver relations, including hiring, training, performance reviews, and corrective action.

    Safety and compliance: Conduct regular vehicle inspections, enforce safety protocols, and ensure all operations comply with FedEx standards and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

    Problem resolution: Address and resolve operational issues as they arise, including truck breakdowns, trailer dispatches, fuel card issues, and route coverage.

    Administrative duties: Complete daily administrative tasks such as payroll, maintenance reports, receipt uploads, and other paperwork to ensure contract compliance.

    Fleet maintenance: Coordinate and oversee vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure all vehicles are in good working order.

    Route support: Provide on-the-road support to drivers having vehicle issues.

    Team communication: Facilitate communication between drivers, terminal management, and other staff to ensure a seamless workflow.

    Requirements:

    Must be at least 21 years of age with minimum High school diploma or equivalent.

    DOT regulations knowledge and experience

    Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

    Able to pass a drug test and DOT physical.

    Physically able to lift and maneuver 100lbs to demonstrate building doubles to new drivers.

    Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, based on business needs.
