Business Development Engineer
Location: Hybrid/ Field Based with travel
Ram Jack is seeking a motivated and technically minded professional to support business growth and market expansion for our engineered product lines. The Business Development Engineer will build and maintain relationships with engineers, contractors, architects, and industry partners while supporting project development efforts and promoting technical solutions.
This role combines relationship management, technical support, and strategic business development within the construction and engineered products industries. The ideal candidate is comfortable working both in the field and in professional client-facing environments and can effectively communicate technical information to a variety of audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Relationship Management
Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, engineers, architects, consultants, and industry partners
Identify new business opportunities, project leads, and potential market growth areas
Support long-term business development efforts through customer engagement and relationship management
Collaborate with internal sales and leadership teams to support territory growth initiatives
Represent the company professionally during customer meetings, project discussions, trade shows, and industry events
Technical Support & Project Development
Provide technical guidance and product support during project planning, design, and specification phases
Assist customers and project teams with product selection, technical information, and application support
Support contractors and engineers during bidding, proposal, and submittal phases
Conduct jobsite visits and field evaluations to support ongoing projects and customer needs
Deliver product presentations, demonstrations, and educational sessions for customers and industry professionals
Market Growth & Industry Engagement
Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and industry activity to identify growth opportunities
Support strategic initiatives to expand market presence and strengthen customer partnerships
Assist with development of technical marketing materials, specification resources, and product documentation
Provide field feedback and market insight to internal engineering, marketing, and product teams
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field preferred
Experience in construction, engineered products, technical sales, project management, business development, or related industries preferred
Experience working with construction documents, specifications, or technical submittals is a plus
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects, customer relationships, and travel schedules independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general business software platforms
Willingness to travel regularly for customer meetings, jobsite visits, and industry events
