Job Summary
The Business Development Executive – Institutional Contracts is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing business opportunities with institutional clients such as government entities, universities, utilities, and large nonprofits. This associate-level role will focus on lead generation, proposal support, and relationship-building to help grow BaRupOn's market presence and secure long-term contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify new opportunities with public agencies, education systems, and utility providers
- Build and maintain relationships with procurement officers, decision-makers, and prime contractors
- Prepare presentations, capability statements, and follow-up communications
- Support the proposal development process and respond to RFQs, RFPs, and bid solicitations
- Track market trends and institutional budget cycles relevant to energy, construction, and healthcare
- Collaborate with technical teams to align services with client needs
- Attend industry events, pre-bid meetings, and business matchmaking sessions
- Maintain accurate records in CRM and generate pipeline reports
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience in institutional or B2G (business-to-government) sales
- Familiarity with public procurement processes and contract lifecycles
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple leads and proposals in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar)
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with municipal, higher education, or healthcare clients
- Understanding of energy, construction, or infrastructure service offerings
- Knowledge of compliance requirements for WOSB, DBE, or government-set-aside contracts
- Proposal writing or grant support experience a plus
