    About Terravanta

Terravanta is a consulting firm specializing in project and construction management, engineering, and sustainability services across the transit, airport, utility, and public-sector infrastructure sectors. We collaborate closely with clients to deliver efficient, practical, and forward-thinking solutions.

    Position Overview

Terravanta is seeking a professional, well-connected Part-Time Business Development Representative located in the Seattle metropolitan area to attend industry events and represent Terravanta to prospective clients and partners.

This role is ideal for someone with strong industry knowledge who enjoys networking, building relationships, and positioning a firm for new opportunities—without a full-time schedule.

The primary responsibility is to attend select events such as ACEC, COMTO, WTS, airport or transit authority events, and other relevant gatherings in the Puget Sound region.

    Key Responsibilities

Attend local industry events, conferences, networking receptions, and association meetings on behalf of Terravanta.

Professionally represent Terravanta’s services and capabilities to potential clients, teaming partners, and industry stakeholders.

Build and maintain relationships with contacts in the transit, airport, and utility sectors.

Gather intelligence on upcoming projects, opportunity pipelines, and competitive landscape within the region.

Provide short post-event summaries including key conversations, potential leads, and recommended next steps.

Coordinate with Terravanta leadership to identify high-value events and networking priorities.

Uphold Terravanta’s brand, values, and professionalism at all external engagements.

    Required Qualifications

Experience in transit, airport, and/or utility sectors — ideally with established contacts in at least one of these markets.

Prior experience in business development, client relations, public agency engagement, or similar roles.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Polished, professional presence suitable for external representation.

Ability to work independently and proactively identify opportunities.

Must be available to attend events primarily in the Seattle/Puget Sound region (typically evening or daytime professional gatherings).

    Nice-to-Have Qualifications

Experience with Washington-based agencies (Sound Transit, WSDOT, Port of Seattle, local utilities, major municipalities).

Familiarity with professional associations such as ACEC, COMTO, WTS, NAEP, Airport Council International, etc.

Previous consulting or engineering industry exposure.

    Compensation

$80 per hour, paid hourly for time spent attending events or participating in Terravanta-approved business development activities.

Mileage or event-related expenses reimbursed with prior approval.
