Business Development Manager - Legal Services
We are a forward-thinking business litigation firm that is on track for aggressive growth, and we need an experienced business development team member with at least 3 years of experience to join our team and work directly with the owners to develop community relationships Growing Through People, Not Ads We do not believe our best clients come from algorithms, gimmicks, or ad spend. Our firm grows through relationships, reputation, and referrals. Your job is to make that growth intentional, predictable, and profitable. If you think referrals “just happen,” this role is not for you. The Mission Your mission is to help us plant, tend to, and grow a "garden" of high-quality referral partners with whom our firm will be strategically making referrals to and receiving referrals from. Your mission is to strategically & intentionally cultivate a limited number of high-quality referral partners who you will take extraordinarily good care of, with detailed records we'll be able to use for attribution and bonuses. This is a LOCAL position for candidates in the South Florida Area Please include a cover letter with your resume. We don't need a novel-length cover letter. How Success Is Measured: • Number, quality, and value of INBOUND referrals • Number, quality, and value of OUTBOUND referrals • Record keeping, record keeping, record keeping; if we have no records of what you are doing, we can't make attribution, and then we can't give bonuses, which we want to be able to give bonuses! Responsibilities: What You’ll Be Responsible For: • Building a Referral Engine (Not a Hope Strategy). • Design and manage a formal referral system involving: Professional partners (people who share our same avatar(s), Centers of influence & trusted advisors, as well as past and current clients. • Ongoing nurturing of relationships with referral partners so that outgoing referrals(from us to them) and incoming referrals (from them to us) are seamless and feel organic; but really, we know it only feels organic because of the system you build, manage, and cultivate. • Manage our database to track referrals given, referrals received, status updates to referral partners, scheduled gift giving to referral partners, thank you notes, birthday cards, etc. It's not enough just to get the right answer; we need to see your work so we can give proper attribution. Qualifications: Who This Role Is For: This role is for someone who is comfortable initiating and sustaining professional relationships, understands long-term value over short-term wins; is warm, thoughtful, generous & confident; willing and able to have direct conversations with referral partners, and thinks in terms of systems, not random acts of heroics. This Role Is NOT For Do not apply if you: • Prefer to sit behind a keyboard; this is a job that requires you to get out and mix things up • Confuse activity with effectiveness • Want or need to get your love, security, and/or self-esteem from our referral partners or clients • Want "a nice steady job"; if any two days are the same, that will be purely a coincidence Compensation: $90,000 - $125,000 yearly
