Business Development Manager
Micone Companies | Reno, NV
Full-Time | Staffing Industry Sales
Approximately 70% Field / 30% Office
Build Relationships. Win Business. Grow With Micone.
Micone Companies is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to help expand our staffing and recruiting partnerships throughout Northern Nevada and beyond.
This is a relationship-driven, field-focused sales position for someone who understands the staffing industry and knows that winning business takes more than sending emails.
We want someone who gets out into the market.
Someone who makes the call, schedules the meeting, tours the facility, attends the event, follows up, asks for the business—and keeps following up.
You'll work directly with Micone leadership and our recruiting team to develop new accounts, strengthen existing relationships, uncover hiring needs, and turn opportunities into long-term partnerships.
What You'll Do
New Business Development
Prospect and develop new staffing and recruiting clients.
Identify companies with temporary, temp-to-hire, direct-hire, and workforce needs.
Conduct outbound calls, emails, social outreach, and in-person prospecting.
Schedule and conduct client meetings.
Tour prospective client facilities and learn their operations.
Present Micone's staffing and recruiting solutions.
Develop proposals and staffing solutions based on client needs.
Negotiate agreements and move opportunities through the sales process.
Close new business and transition new accounts successfully to recruiting and operations.
Get Into the Community
Approximately 70% of this role is expected to be spent in the field.
You'll:
Visit prospective and existing clients.
Attend networking events.
Participate in chamber and business events.
Attend industry functions.
Build relationships with local organizations.
Develop referral partnerships.
Stay visible within the Northern Nevada business community.
We don't want our Business Development Manager waiting for opportunities to come to them.
We want someone creating them.
Grow Existing Accounts
New business matters—but so does taking care of the clients we already have.
You'll:
Conduct regular client check-ins.
Visit client locations.
Learn about upcoming workforce needs.
Identify additional departments or positions Micone can support.
Gather feedback about candidates and employees.
Address concerns quickly.
Look for opportunities to expand services across temporary staffing, direct hire, and recruiting.
Partner With Recruiting
Sales and recruiting have to work together.
You'll collaborate closely with our staffing and recruiting teams to:
Communicate new job orders clearly.
Understand position requirements.
Set realistic client expectations.
Provide recruiters with information needed to identify strong candidates.
Stay informed about candidate pipelines and submissions.
Follow up with clients regarding interviews and feedback.
Help move hiring decisions forward.
Own Your Pipeline
Maintain accurate prospect and client activity in the CRM.
Track leads, meetings, proposals, agreements, job orders, and follow-ups.
Maintain an active sales pipeline.
Schedule next steps instead of allowing opportunities to go cold.
Provide leadership with visibility into activity, opportunities, challenges, and results.
Consistently work toward established sales and revenue goals.
What We're Looking For
Minimum 2 years of staffing/recruiting industry experience required.
Staffing sales or business development experience strongly preferred.
Understanding of temporary staffing, temp-to-hire, and direct-hire recruiting.
Proven ability to build professional relationships.
Strong prospecting and outbound communication skills.
Comfortable making cold calls and walking into prospective businesses.
Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
Exceptional follow-up and sense of urgency.
Ability to work independently in the field.
Excellent organization and time-management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Experience using CRM systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Professional appearance and communication style.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for client visits and events.
You'll Thrive Here If You...
Prefer meeting people over sitting behind a desk all day.
Naturally build relationships wherever you go.
Aren't afraid to ask for the meeting—or the business.
Follow up when other salespeople give up.
Enjoy networking and being involved in the community.
Understand that responsiveness matters in staffing.
Can sell without sacrificing relationships.
Want your individual performance to have a visible impact on company growth.
Why Micone?
