    Role Purpose

    The Business Development Manager drives growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing the right projects for Surfaces Group. Through strong relationships with clients, general contractors, architects, and designers, this position ensures the company’s project pipeline aligns with our expertise, capacity, and profitability goals.

    Core Responsibilities

    Business Development & Relationship Management

    Identify, pursue, and qualify new business opportunities with GCs, architects, and designers.

    Prospect, cold-call, and visit clients regularly to strengthen relationships and uncover work.

    Represent Surfaces Group at industry events and networking functions.

    Sales & Proposal Coordination

    Track potential projects, assist with budgeting, and prepare or present proposals.

    Secure bid opportunities, negotiate terms, and collaborate with estimating.

    Follow up on bids to gather feedback and track results.

    Market Intelligence & Marketing

    Monitor construction activity through publications and public records.

    Lead local marketing initiatives to build brand awareness and generate leads.

    Reporting & Collaboration

    Maintain accurate CRM data and contact tracking.

    Partner with leadership to set and achieve quarterly sales goals.

    Provide workload forecasts and pipeline insights to operations.

    Key Metrics of Success

    Volume and quality of new opportunities generated

    Growth in repeat business and preferred GC relationships

    Bid-to-award conversion rate and win percentage

    CRM accuracy and follow-up consistency

    Contribution to revenue growth and steady project pipeline
