    The Role: We’re looking for a driven, high-energy Business Development Representative to join our growing sales team in NYC. As a BDR, you will be on the front lines of Apex’s revenue growth, generating qualified leads, booking meetings, and fueling the success of our events and partnerships.This role is designed for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment, is naturally competitive, and enjoys working towards clear goals.

    Each candidate will take a cultural index survey prior to interviewing.

    Take ownership of outbound prospecting — calls, emails, LinkedIn — and drive results

    Build relationships fast with tech companies that align with Apex’s event strategy

    Get in front of decision-makers and secure qualified meetings for senior sales leaders

    Take pride in hitting — and exceeding — your outreach and meeting targets

    Keep your pipeline organized and your activity sharp in Salesforce

    Help shape our messaging — your voice and ideas matter here

    Stay sharp on trends so your conversations sound confident and relevant

    Familiar with CRM tools (Salesforce is a plus) and LinkedIn Sales Navigator

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred

    Previous sales or lead generation experience is a plus — but attitude matters most

    Supervisory responsibilities This is an independent contributor role with no direct reports. Coordination with internal teams is required.

    Physical demands

    Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

    30% travel may require light lifting of promotional materials or event supplies

    Travel required

    Travel required. Any travel related to events will be discussed in advance and covered by the company (flight and hotel).

    Less than 10% to begin and may increase over time to 15%

    Required education and experience

    Associates and Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Preferred education and experience

    Previous experience in sales, business development, or lead generation

    Familiarity with CRM tools and email outreach platforms

    Additional eligibility requirements

    Ability to work standard hours (Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST)

    Eligible to work in the United States
