    Job Summary

This territory-based role is responsible for both facility development and clinical research development, supporting patient access, referral growth, and research enrollment across Orange County. The Business Development Representative drives the facility partnership growth by developing and expanding strategic partnerships with residential mental health facilities and PHP/IOP programs supporting individuals with both substance use and mental health disorders. The clinical research development component centers on identifying and sourcing potential clinical trial participants—particularly for Alzheimer’s and dementia studies—through relationships with neurologists, geriatricians, memory care facilities, and assisted living communities, while educating partners and facilitating patient pathways into research participation.

    Key Responsibilities

    Facility Development

Drive the development and expansion of high-value partnerships with Primary Mental Health Residential facilities, and PHP/IOP programs for Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health Disorders.

Develop and execute a targeted territory plan to prioritize high-value facilities based on location, capacity, service needs, and overall partnership potential.

Identify, engage, and build relationships with key decision-makers—including executive leadership, clinical directors, program directors, admissions, and nursing staff—using a “Total Facility” approach

Cultivate and expand strategic facility partnerships, managing prospects from initial engagement through to the handoff for execution by the Director of Facility Development, who leads discussions on operational processes and ensures smooth onboarding.

Deliver compelling, education-based presentations that clearly communicate clinical value and operational ease.

Leverage CRM tools to track activity, manage pipeline, and prioritize high-conversion partnership opportunities

Partner with intake, marketing, and operations to ensure closed-loop feedback and maximize partner conversion and activation

Provide Voice of Customer (VOC) insights to improve partner experience, messaging, and operational performance

Consistently achieve monthly activity metrics, new partnership targets, and partner activation goals

Track pipeline performance and conversion rates; adjust strategies based on data and market trends

Contribute real-time market intelligence, including competitive insights and barriers to partnership growth

    Clinical Research Development

Develop and execute outreach strategies to identify and engage potential participants for Alzheimer’s and dementia clinical trials

Identify, engage, and maintain relationships with key referral sources, including neurologists, geriatricians, memory care facilities, assisted living communities, and caregiver support organizations throughout Orange County

Engage with community groups, senior centers, and advocacy organizations to increase awareness of clinical research opportunities.

Coordinate and attend community engagement events to build and expand clinical trial participant pipeline.

Deliver presentations and research materials to providers, caregivers, and community organizations to promote education and visibility on the value and process of clinical trial participation.

Partner closely with clinical research recruitment team and investigators to align outreach efforts with active study protocols and enrollment goals

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of overall clinical trial process, study inclusion/exclusion criteria, study timelines, recruitment priorities and targets.

    Qualifications:

2–7 years of demonstrated success in sales, with a preference for experience in healthcare services, behavioral health, or other provider-referred specialty service environments.

Successful history of applying a consultative sales model

Strong ability to develop and leverage healthcare provider referral pipelines

Experience using an educational framework for informing clinical stakeholders on service offerings

Understanding of all stakeholders within a referring healthcare provider’s office

CRM proficiency and strong data discipline

Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in healthcare administration, public health, or related field preferred
