Business Development Representative (Remote – Life Sciences & Biotech)
You know how to explain the science. Now imagine turning that skill into revenue.
This isn’t your typical SaaS BDR role. This is for someone who’s driven, scientifically curious, and looking to break into tech sales—or level up with a company that’s genuinely doing meaningful work.
We're working with a venture-backed startup (high growth, stealth-mode for now) that's transforming how scientists, researchers, and biotech innovators communicate their work. The product is already in use across 100+ countries, and the Business Development team is consistently exceeding targets.
If you’re excited about helping scientists accelerate discovery—and want a clear growth path to AE or CSM—this could be your launchpad.
We’re hiring Business Development Representatives in these key biotech hubs:
Boston, MA · Washington, DC / DMV Area · Raleigh–Durham, NC · Seattle, WA · Philadelphia, PA · Chicago, IL · Houston, TX · Austin, TX · Pittsburgh, PA
This is a remote-first role with occasional in-person customer meetings or events in these metros. If you're based near one of these cities and excited to break into life sciences sales, this could be your launchpad.
What You’ll Be Doing
Own top-of-funnel pipeline generation through outbound prospecting (email, cold call, social)
Qualify and respond to inbound leads with speed and curiosity
Identify decision-makers across academic, biotech, and enterprise research orgs
Deliver personalized outreach that resonates with highly technical buyers
Build deep product knowledge to engage confidently with scientists and researchers
Partner with Account Executives to book meetings and influence revenue
Log activities, track lead progression, and forecast pipeline in CRM (HubSpot/Salesforce)
You’ll Thrive Here If You…
Have a background in life sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, etc.)
Have 6–24 months in a BDR, SDR, or similar sales role—or are science-trained and ready to pivot into tech
Communicate clearly, confidently, and with empathy (especially via phone/email)
Love solving problems, asking thoughtful questions, and learning fast
Are goal-oriented and motivated by metrics (KPIs, calls booked, quota)
Bring self-discipline, energy, and coachability to your work every day
Bonus points if you:
Were a college athlete or have a competitive background
Have experience using Salesloft, Outreach, Gong, or HubSpot
Have worked in biotech, pharma, medtech, or scientific software
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences or related field strongly preferred
6 months to 2 years in a revenue-generating or customer-facing role
Strong writing, storytelling, and relationship-building skills
Authorized to work in the US or Canada; no visa sponsorship available
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $55,000–$65,000 (based on location and experience)
OTE: $85,000–$100,000+ (uncapped commission structure)
Equity: Early-stage stock options available
Location: Remote (Canada or select US biotech hubs)
Benefits include:
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans
Remote work flexibility with all tech provided
Equity in a growing, venture-backed company
Wellness stipends + optional “paw perks” for pet parents
Professional development support (books, courses, conferences)
Why This Role, and Why Now
This isn’t just another BDR job—it’s a chance to sell something real, to people who need it, in a field that matters. You'll be joining a mission-driven team of smart, curious, and humble people who love science, love design, and love helping others communicate big ideas.
You’ll be trained, coached, and supported from day one—and you’ll have a clear path to becoming an AE or CSM within your first 12–18 months, if that’s where you want to grow.
Important: To preserve the integrity of the hiring process, the company name is not being disclosed at this stage. All applications are reviewed directly by the retained recruiting team. No third parties.
Apply now if you’re ready to combine science, sales, and storytelling—and build a career that actually means something.
