Position Overview
Shana Nelson State Farm , based in San Jose, CA, is looking for a licensed, driven Business Development Representative to help us grow across California, Arizona, Oregon, and Nevada. We serve a sophisticated, professional client base and run our agency entirely by phone, email, and video. The ideal candidate already holds an active insurance license, has experience working remotely, and is comfortable building new business on the phone and on camera. This role offers a competitive base plus commission/bonus, with clear expectations around outbound activity, follow-up, accurate documentation, and video-based service.
Responsibilities
- Make outbound calls and follow-ups to prospects and referral sources to build a pipeline of new business
- Set appointments and move prospects through the sales process
- Maintain accurate activity and pipeline records in the agency system
- Meet weekly and monthly outreach and production goals
- Participate in product training and licensing coursework
Qualifications
- Active insurance license required (Property & Casualty and/or Life & Health)
- Prior remote work experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable on camera and conducting video appointments (required)
- Strong phone presence and clear, confident communication
- Highly organized and self-motivated, able to manage your day independently
- Coachable and willing to follow established processes and documentation standards
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- State Farm or insurance agency experience a plus

Pay range: $50,000-$85,000 per year (high performers earning $100,000+)
