As we expand our footprint in the region, we are seeking a motivated Business Development & Marketing Specialist to help drive growth, strengthen client relationships, and build our brand presence.

    Position Summary

    The Business Development & Marketing Specialist will play a dual role in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities while also managing and executing marketing initiatives. This professional will work closely with firm leadership to expand client relationships, develop strategic proposals, and elevate the company’s presence in the construction management and engineering services marketplace.

    This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a small-business environment and enjoys both strategic business development and hands-on marketing execution.

    Key Responsibilities

    Business Development

    Research, identify, and qualify new business opportunities with public agencies, private developers, contractors, and engineering partners.

    Track and monitor upcoming RFPs, RFQs, and bid opportunities; coordinate proposal schedules.

    Lead and support the development of proposals, SOQs (Statements of Qualifications), and capability presentations.

    Attend industry networking events, pre-proposal meetings, and client outreach sessions on behalf of the company.

    Maintain and update the company’s CRM/database of clients, prospects, teaming partners, and opportunities.

    Assist with identifying and building strategic teaming and subcontracting partnerships.

    Marketing

    Create and implement marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and market visibility.

    Manage the development of proposals, marketing collateral, case studies, and project sheets.

    Maintain and update company website, social media, and digital presence.

    Develop client-focused presentations and supporting materials for business development.

    Support the preparation of award submissions, press releases, and thought leadership pieces.

    Coordinate branding consistency across internal and external communications.

    Qualifications

    Required

    Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

    Minimum 3–5 years of experience in business development, marketing, or proposal coordination within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction), construction management, or professional services industry.

    Strong proposal writing, editing, and coordination skills with knowledge of SOQ/RFP/RFQ processes.

    Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.

    Ability to attend client meetings and industry events in Southern California.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), or equivalent tools for proposal/marketing materials.

    Preferred

    Experience working with small to mid-size firms in engineering or construction management.

    Familiarity with public agency procurement processes in California (Caltrans, Metro, school districts, local cities/counties, etc.).

    Existing network of AEC contacts within Southern California.
