    The Midtown Group is seeking an Administrative Modernization Program (AMP) Business Intelligence Analyst for one of our higher education clients.

    Position Title: Administrative Modernization Program (AMP) Business Intelligence Analyst
    Location Preference: Corvallis / Hybrid preferred, but remote candidates will be considered
    Start Date: June 15, 2025
    Duration: 12 Months
    Work Schedule: 40 hours/week
    Availability: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST
    Overtime Requirement: None

    Position Summary:

    The AMP Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.

    The ideal candidate will collaborate with HR, Finance, and Research Administration teams to translate business needs into scalable, user-friendly reporting solutions. This position requires a strong understanding of data visualization, user experience, and enterprise-level reporting practices.

    As part of the AMP team, the BI Analyst is expected to actively support and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of their work.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Report and Dashboard Development (80%)

    • Develop Power BI reports using Microsoft Fabric Semantic Models and data warehouse structures.
    • Analyze historical reporting needs and user functionality to define detailed specifications.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to create wireframes, prototypes, and technical documentation.
    • Design, test, and implement interactive dashboards using advanced Power BI features (DAX, Power Query, custom visuals).
    • Work closely with developers, data modelers, and functional leads to ensure scalable, maintainable solutions using Git and other team standards.
    • Build tools that bridge legacy systems, Workday ERP, and analytical reporting needs.

    Standards and Documentation (20%)

    • Assist in testing and refining semantic models for enterprise reporting.
    • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through comprehensive QA and validation.
    • Optimize report performance and scalability.
    • Secure reporting assets within the Microsoft Fabric environment.
    • Maintain thorough documentation and contribute to the standardization of reporting practices.
    • Provide technical support and training to end-users during testing and deployment.

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
    • 2+ years of experience developing BI reports and dashboards using Power BI.
    • Proficiency in SQL and DAX for querying, modeling, and data analysis.
    • Experience translating business requirements into reusable, meaningful reports.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

    Preferred:

    • Master’s degree in a related field.
    • Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Certification.
    • 5+ years of experience with Power BI or Tableau in large, complex organizations.
    • Experience in higher education, public sector, or healthcare environments.
    • Advanced knowledge of relational databases and querying techniques.
    • Experience with logical and physical data modeling.
    • Proven experience in a senior BI role within a large organization.
