POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Intelligence and Office Automation Analyst serves as the analytical and technical link between Swagelok Northwest’s business operations and its technology infrastructure. This position enables leadership to make data-driven decisions through reliable reporting, pricing insights, and integrated data systems. The role will manage data models, integration pipelines, and performance reporting across SAP B1, Power BI, and HubSpot to ensure accuracy and timeliness. By taking ownership of data analysis and reporting operations, this position enables the Director of Information and Computer Systems to focus on strategic advancements, automation, and AI readiness. AI experience is not required; the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop those competencies under the mentorship of the Director of Information and Computer Systems. The role will collaborate closely with the Director of Information and Computer Systems to expand automation and AI capabilities, learning to design and deploy predictive and intelligent systems that enhance operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop, maintain, and optimize business intelligence dashboards, data models, and reports using Power BI and SAP B1.
• Conduct pricing, margin, and revenue analysis to support leadership decision-making and profitability strategies.
• Design, document, and manage data pipelines and integrations between SAP B1, HubSpot, Power BI, and other core systems.
• Document, evaluate, and optimize business processes across departments to identify and implement automation opportunities.
• Partner with stakeholders to map workflows and assess how technology can improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Create, troubleshoot, and maintain SQL queries and SAP reports ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with the Sales Operations Manager to align backend data structures with Power BI dashboards used by Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams.
• Support Director of IT/IS in automation and digital transformation initiatives, exploring process improvement through Power Automate, APIs, and predictive analytics opportunities. Lead pilot projects to automate manual data collection, reporting, and approval processes. Design and implement workflow automations using low-code tools such as Power Automate or through API integrations.
• Establish and enforce data governance standards, improving data quality, consistency, and security across the organization.
• Translate business requirements into technical and analytical solutions through collaboration with stakeholders across departments.
• Develop standardized reporting templates and operational metrics for recurring and ad hoc business needs.
• Prepare concise visual reports and executive summaries that communicate insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
• Success in this role is measured by improved data reliability, reduced manual reporting, and increased automation adoption across departments.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to eliminate manual reporting and streamline workflows.
•Provide cross-functional department technical support when needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 2+ years of progressive experience in business or data analysis, preferably within a technical or manufacturing environment.
Required Skills:
• Proficiency in SAP Business One (data structure, queries, reporting).
• Advanced Power BI capability (DAX, Power Query, data modeling, performance tuning).
• Intermediate to advanced SQL query writing and optimization.
• Familiarity with HubSpot CRM data architecture and integration workflows.
• Strong Excel (Power Pivot, Power Query) and Microsoft 365 suite proficiency.
• Ability to synthesize data into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with Python or R for data automation or manipulation scripting.
• Experience integrating APIs or using middleware to connect enterprise systems.
• Exposure to process automation tools (Power Automate, UiPath, or equivalent).
• Understanding of data governance, data warehouse principles, and KPI tracking.
• Awareness of AI applications in analytics, forecasting, and automation (development supported internally).
EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
Experience with SAP B1, Power BI, HubSpot, SQL, and Power Automate. Familiarity with data integration tools or scripting languages preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Seated workstation in an office environment. Operation of keyboard and standard office equipment for extended periods. Some travel required, including occasional overnight stays.
