REPORTS TO: Vice President of Commercial Lending
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
Provide information on credit union products and services to current and potential business members according to all credit union policies and procedures and federal rules and regulations. Support the VP of Commercial Lending in development of the business loan portfolio. Prepare, assess, process and document all required forms and related communication.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Gather background information on members applying for business loans by reviewing applicants and obtaining all necessary information.
Interview members requesting refinancing or rewrites of existing business loans.
Assist members with the loan application process in person, on the phone or electronically to ensure completeness of information.
Pull credit reports for all accounts, verify debt, estimate monthly payments for any outstanding debts not listed and add them to debts on the application.
Calculate debt-to-income ratios on loan applications and calculate how much of the applicant’s debt is secured or unsecured.
Ensure that sound analysis and lending procedures are followed. Act in compliance with Business Loan Policy always.
Evaluate the information provided by the business owner.
Generate offer letters or decline notices as decisions are made on applications.
Explain reasons for denial and explore options for members when business loans are denied.
Verify the accuracy of business loan amounts and repayment terms on approved loan applications. Complete loan documents and disburse loans when approved.
Answer questions related to business loans.
Responsible for assisting the Vice President of Commercial Lending in collection efforts on business accounts.
Maintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with the credit unions established policies, procedures and applicable regulations.
Maintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with the credit unions established policies, procedures and applicable regulations, to include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC).
Performs other duties assigned or required in connection with the general operation of the credit union.
REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
Ability to analyze, interpret and communicate orally and in writing (prepare a credit memorandum) the financial status of the balance and income statements, Cash Flow Statements for all types of businesses including business applicants to determine their potential borrowing capacity
Extensive knowledge of business laws as well as commercial laws and regulations related to commercial lending.
Knowledge of the methods for appraising all types of collateral.
Good organizational and professional communication skills, both written and oral.
Good oral and written communication skills and must be detail oriented.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of two years of commercial lending experience.

Primarily in-door office work with quiet to moderate noise levels.
Occasional work outside the office.
Occasional travel for business-related functions.
Occasional evening and weekend schedules may be required.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and occasional Saturdays may be required; May also require occasional travel for training as needed. Hours may change without notice.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires sitting most of the day, lifting up to 35 pounds, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling and reaching above shoulder level occasionally, reaching below shoulder level frequently, twisting continuously.
