    Attorney ( Commercial/Business ) - Sacramento, CA

    Compensation: $180,000 - $200,000 per year

    ** Nexus HR is looking for an experienced and motivated Commercial/** Business Attorney for a reputable medical software organization in Sacramento, CA. The ideal Counsel will be able to work in the office full-time.

    About the Job:

    The Attorney is responsible for representing the organization in any business ventures, including but not limited to mergers, business representations, and commercial reports.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide accurate, relevant, and timely advice to your employer and other staff members on commercial and business legal topics.

    • Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts and agreements.

    • Manage and mitigate legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures.

    • Promote legal, compliance, and risk management best practices throughout the company.

    • Communicate with and work with any third-party bodies such as external counsel or auditors.

    • Design and deliver legal training to the business.

    • Stay up-to-date with changes to commercial legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules, and regulations that directly affect your business and specific industry.

    • Represent the organization in commercial litigation matters such as contract discussions and disputes, shareholder disputes, and business torts, among others

    • Helps review the company’s software system and provide feedback from a legal perspective.

    • Liaise with senior members of staff.

    Qualifications:

    • 3 to 7 years of experience as a litigation counsel is preferred

    • Experience in commercial and business law is highly preferred

    • Trial experience is a plus

    • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school is required

    • 75% LSAT score is a plus

    • Member of the California State Bar (or another state bar with the ability to obtain registered in-house counsel status in California); must be in good standing

    • Commercial litigation experience in the healthcare industry is preferred

    • Able to work in Sacramento, CA
