Are you a curious and analytical student with a passion for using data to solve business problems? Pilot Company is seeking a Business Process Engineering Intern to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee, for the summer of 2026. This is a unique opportunity to directly improve operational efficiency through process mining and analysis, providing data-driven recommendations that will simplify and automate business processes.

In this role, you will be an integral part of our Data Enablement/Business Process Engineering team. Your work will involve ingesting and analyzing data to identify and quantify inefficiencies. This is an ideal position for someone who is a collaborative team player and enjoys building with others to drive real change.

What You’ll Do

Your responsibilities may include:

• Support process mining and analysis: Build and analyze business processes with the goal of finding simplification and automation opportunities.
• Partner with the business: Collaborate with business partners to gather requirements and understand their needs.
• Provide data-driven recommendations: Analyze data and provide clear recommendations to business partners to improve efficiency.
• Highlight and quantify inefficiencies: Use your analytical skills to identify inefficiencies and quantify their impact.
• Contribute to key initiatives: Help accelerate the team's delivery and assist with Pilot’s strategic initiatives by handling essential tasks.

Qualifications

• Education: A rising or graduating senior pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and MS Office. Experience building out visualizations is also essential.
• Soft Skills: A curious and collaborative team player who is open to hearing other perspectives and enjoys building solutions with others.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, in-person internship, running from June 1-August 6, 2026. You’ll be working alongside our team in our Knoxville headquarters, where you’ll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and experience the full scope of life at Pilot Company.
