Job Summary
We are seeking an Echocardiac Technologist to join our team! As an Echocardiac Technologist, you will be responsible for greeting new patients, explaining the procedure, and answering any questions they may have as to what they can expect. You will also perform the ultrasound itself, visualize internal cardiac structures, obtain relevant measurements, and occasionally assist the physician with particularly complex and demanding procedures. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of cardiology, has excellent communication and customer service skills, and has the required licensure needed by the state.
SHIFTS: Monday through Friday 8am-5pm
weekend rotation every 5th or 6th weekend
one week of call every 4-5 weeks - 12 hours per day during the week of call
Responsibilities
Answer patient questions, obtain relevant medical history, and explain the upcoming procedure
Perform the cardiac ultrasound, recording accurate, relevant data
Consult with colleges or physicians as needed to best interpret the data
Assist other technologists or colleagues as needed
Accurate record all findings
Qualifications
Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Tech
Must be an adult RDCS or RCS registered
proficient with transthoracic, exercise, and dobutamine stress echocardiograms.
Pediatric experience a plus
Experience with Philips Epiq ultrasound systems and Philips Xcelera reporting system
Both inpatient and outpatient studies with a rotating schedule.
Current knowledge of skills in the area of Echocardiography.
1+ years of experience
