    Business Sector Specialist

    ** Starting Salary: $60,000 on education and experience**

    Purpose

    The Business Solutions Sector Specialist (BSSS) implements Employ Milwaukee’s vision for a demand driven, employer led, sector focused workforce development system. The primary responsibilities are implementing demand management strategies and designing and delivering talent solutions and talent sourcing strategies.

    Responsibilities:

    Demand Management

    • Convene/direct industry advisory boards in high-demand, design business solutions, and place client inventory.
    • Review LMI data sources and supplement with demand intelligence from employers, chambers, business associations, economic develop organizations, and site selectors
    • Promote/market resources/value proposition of Employ Milwaukee to the business community, economic development organizations, chamber of commerce, educators, public.
    • Cultivate demand side relationships to grow agency placement capacity
    • Strengthen current and grow new business relationships working collaboratively with other Employ Milwaukee Business Services staff and other partner agencies.

    Talent Solutions & Talent Sourcing

    • Design/deliver customized talent development and sourcing solutions based upon employer specifications
    • Educate and recruit employers for talent solutions such as on-the-job training, apprenticeship (registered and youth, and customized training)
    • Responsible of for all aspects of recruitment/hiring events
    • Conduct and lead efforts to identify, pre-screen, and match job-ready candidates from talent development programs and non-program job seekers with business demand.
    • Work with other Business Services team members to maintain current job order list (demand) and roster of job-ready candidates (supply).
    • Sell, complete, manage, monitor and close out training (On-the-Job Training and Incumbent Worker, etc.) contracts.
    • Meet monthly and annual training sales goals.

    Other

    • Prepare reports and presentations for various audiences, both internal and external.
    • Enter new/update employer engagement, job orders, outreach activity and other data into Employ Milwaukee’s internal database, “Efforts to Outcome” (ETO) and JCW-Business in a timely and accurate fashion.
    • Attend meetings, conference and seminars as requested.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Baccalaureate Degree required in business management, economic development, marketing, public administration or other related field; or any combination of exp.erience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities. Background in Sales or Human Relations helpful.

    • Strong verbal and presentation skills to include public speaking, negotiating, technical instruction, legal discussions, sales/promotion and leadership.

    • Strong written skills to include complex business correspondence and documentation for legal compliance.

    • Ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.

    • Knowledge of PC applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.

    • General accounting skills and basic mathematics skills for budget monitoring, calculations, and numbers analysis.

    • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.

    • Ability to present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.

    • Must possess good problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to interpret and carry out instructions furnished in oral or written form.

    • Ability to recognize and anticipate the needs of Employ Milwaukee’s partners and participants.

    • Ability to engage in long range planning and projecting.

    • Knowledge of business challenges and priorities.

    • Demonstrated ability to gather and assess data, identify patterns, and develop recommendations.

    • Demonstrated ability to assess, build and maintain business and other collaborative relationships.

    Required Skills and qualifications:

    Education Baccalaureate Degree required in business management, economic development, marketing, public administration, or other related field.

    Experience and/or Training At least 5 years of experience in sales, job placement services, workforce development, or business administration.

    Licenses/Certificates Driver’s License

    Technology/Equipment __ Experience with and capability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and data entry. Employee will be trained on entering data and reporting through various systems including Efforts to Outcomes, ASSET, and JCW Business.
