Job Description:
Business System Analyst (Lead) –
Client: City of Phoenix – IT Department Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid – ~60% onsite, 40% remote) Contract: Until June 30, 2026 Work Setup: 3 days in office, 2 days remote (after onboarding)
Role Summary
Looking for a Lead Business Systems Analyst who connects business needs with IT solutions. The role focuses heavily on requirements gathering, test script creation, system testing, and UAT leadership, while coordinating between business users, developers, and QA teams.
Key Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements
Convert business needs into functional and technical specifications
Create and execute test scripts (functional, regression, integration)
Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users
Track defects and work with developers to fix issues
Ensure testing follows QA standards and best practices
Act as the main bridge between business and IT teams
Lead workshops, reviews, and stakeholder discussions
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, or related field
3+ years as a Business Systems Analyst
2+ years in a lead BSA role
Strong experience in UAT, system testing, and QA
Hands-on test script creation
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
