Job Description
We are seeking a Business Systems Engineer to architect, build, and optimize PayNearMe’s enterprise tools ecosystem, with Salesforce as a core platform. This role will ensure our business systems are scalable, reliable, and cohesive across departments, supporting key initiatives such as quote-to-cash optimization, billing automation, client onboarding automation, revenue operations support, and contract lifecycle management.
The ideal candidate blends deep Salesforce expertise with a strong background in enterprise integration, automation and system governance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop integrations between Salesforce and key business systems (PayNearMe’s platform, Zendesk, Jira, Gong, etc.)
* Implement automation and data synchronization using API’s, middleware, and/or low-code platforms.
* Define data flow standards, mapping, and orchestration patterns to reduce duplication and improve visibility across teams.
* Partner with business stakeholders to evaluate and implement new SaaS tools within governance frameworks.
* Partner with our Revenue Operations and Finance teams to design and implement an automated quote-to-cash system, including: pricing approvals, order creation, distribution workflows, and billing automation.
* Partner with our Legal and Finance teams to design and implement contract request-to-execution and renewal management automation.
* Partner with our Client Services and Project Management teams to select and integrate an implementation management solution that integrates with Salesforce our other existing business systems.
* Partner with the Customer Support team to evaluate a migration from Zendesk to Salesforce Service Cloud. Based on that evaluation, drive the migration or enhance the existing integration to optimize their processes to support bulk communication workflows and incident notification processes.
* Build the processes and controls to reinforce Salesforce as our source of truth for account names, contacts, contracts, access controls, pricing, etc.
* Maintain and enhance Salesforce architecture, data models, and automation.
* Conduct code audits, refactor Apex classes, and enhance test coverage.
* Migrate Workflow Rules/Process Builder automations into Salesforce Flows.
* Review and optimize Salesforce object architecture (standard/custom objects, relationships, record types, picklists).
* Simplify automation and integrations to reduce data duplication and optimize system performance.
* Partner with Technical Program Management, Product, and Engineering to improve product development planning capabilities, development velocity, and portfolio transparency by designing and implementing jira issue, field, and workflow changes that reflect our standard operating model.
* Build automations and integrations between Jira and downstream systems like Gitlab, Confluence, Playwright, and Salesforce to streamline our existing processes.
* Build systems that improve real-time visibility into key business metrics at various levels of the organization combining inputs from multiple sources (Salesforce, Intacct, Jira, Zendesk, and PayNearMe’s platform).
* Establish and enforce best practices for configuration management, code quality, and naming conventions.
* Partner with IT and Security to implement backup protocols, permission sets, platform encryption, and event monitoring.
* Ensure alignment with compliance and audit frameworks.
* Implement Git-based CI/CD pipelines across enterprise systems (Salesforce DevOps Center, GitHub Actions, etc.).
* Develop automated testing and deployment workflows.
* Coordinate sandbox refreshes, environment management, and enterprise tooling release calendars.
* Support PayNearMe’s rapid growth by working closely with Revenue Operations, Finance, and Customer Success, and Customer Support to automate key business processes.
* Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions that enhance productivity and insight.
