Business Unit Manager – High-Growth Motion Technology Division

Servo Drive Sales Experience Highly Preferred

Location: Chicago, IL (Midwest-based “rockstar” candidates encouraged to apply)
    Compensation: Up to $200K

Are you a strategic sales leader with deep expertise in servo motors and motion systems? Ready to take full ownership of a fast-growing business unit with global visibility and executive-level impact?

Our client is seeking a Business Unit Manager to lead and scale two high-performance sales teams in the U.S., driving aggressive growth across established and newly acquired product lines. This is a rare opportunity to own a $10M+ revenue portfolio with a 15–20% annual growth target — and the runway, support, and authority to make it happen.

    Why This Role Stands Out

    • Executive-level exposure (reporting to U.S. President with dotted-line access to global leadership in Europe and Israel)
    • Full P&L responsibility and strategic ownership
    • Leadership of two dynamic sales teams across North America
    • Expansion into new markets and cutting-edge technologies
    • Strong compensation package with bonus and profit sharing
    • Real opportunity to build infrastructure and add headcount as revenue scales

If you thrive in a matrixed, global organization and want autonomy with accountability, this is your moment.

    What You’ll Do

    • Lead and unify two sales teams focused on advanced servo motor and motion technologies
    • Own revenue growth goals: $7M existing product line + $3M new acquisition
    • Develop and execute sales strategies, forecasts, and budgets
    • Drive margin performance and oversee proposal development
    • Expand into new markets and support new technology initiatives
    • Guide marketing direction and ensure strong brand presence
    • Present performance metrics in executive and board-level reviews
    • Build scalable processes using CRM and reporting tools
    • Ensure full lifecycle support of products and projects

You will lead a distributed team across the U.S. and Canada, while collaborating with global technical and commercial leadership.

    What You Bring

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
    • Master’s or MBA (Engineering or related field) preferred
    • 5+ years in servo motor/servo systems sales
    • 5–8 years leading sales engineers, reps, or distributors
    • Strong financial acumen and P&L ownership experience
    • CRM and sales reporting expertise
    • Technical fluency in motion systems and controls
    • Confidence presenting to executive leadership across North America and Europe
    • Ability to operate effectively in a global matrix organization

    Who Thrives Here

    • Strategic builders who want authority and accountability
    • Growth-minded leaders who enjoy scaling teams
    • Technically strong professionals who understand motion systems at a deep level
    • Relationship-driven leaders who can inspire teams and win major accounts

This is more than a management role — it’s a chance to own a business, drive international collaboration, and shape the future of advanced motion technology in North America.
